Voluntary clean up along the Riverside in Phnom Penh after the recent Water Festival organised by Life Library Foundation founded by Oeun Sam Art (seen in picture above). This is the eleventh time this organisation has staged one of these events.
The need to change peoples behavior and getting them to realise caring for their environment is going to be a long slow process. The supporting infrastructure for clean up and collecting garbage in Phnom Penh is generally very poor and people have come to accept that dumping trash on the streets is acceptable (as they have no other options). Government, (local and National), leadership and investment is certainly needed.
